This Week
Um. This has been a crazy week. There's been sickness and emotions on high and I'm pretty sure I had a brief but intense identity crisis. But whew...we seem to be kind of leveling out now? I would like to end that last sentence with a period but I guess I better leave that question mark for the sake of honesty.
Anyways! We are finding our way amidst it all and riding the ride. And this weekend...we are driving to Texas. Yep. Driving. That seems like a crazy thing to do considering I have to nurse the baby every 2-3 hours. And the 6 year old says she is car sick. And the drive takes 16 hours without including all the stops. But! Eyes on the prize, Kewal! There will be a fun wedding and family and friends and my home town. Eyes on the prize.
Tuesday: trying to heal Satvinder's eye infections (in both eyes) with camomile tea bags. It has worked wonders in past situations but not in this case. We had to go to the doctor and get her some eye drops. And I succumbed to taking antibiotics, myself, for the first time in 6 years due to illness that just kept on coming back to me with more and more dedication. Sometimes you just gotta go for the meds, I guess. We're doing better now!
After a walk with friends - the babies seemed to enjoy looking at each other or near each other...or staring into space while their mothers imagined they were looking at each - whatever. They were content so that's what mattered.
Thursday - after another walk with friends (spring time weather here in Phoenix) - both babies fell asleep.
The older ones were looking a little bit scruffy after playing at the playground. But they were having fun.

2 Months
Sukhjot turned 2 months this week. So 2 months, huh? That's all it has been? Hasn't she always been with us? Haven't we always known this sweet bright light? I can't imagine life without her.
Today - in a heart shirt that was Satvinder's - one of the few items of baby clothing we managed to keep for six years. Actually, if I had storage (and it is probably good that I don't in this case) I would probably try to keep all their baby and kid clothing. It is just too hard to part with anything that was/is part of their sweet childhood days.
With the cute giraffe that her Aunt Sharon sent. I saw this giraffe recently and silently wished for one for Sukhjot. Then - ta da - it appeared in the mail one day. Thanks, Sharon!
She has such a "What you talkin about, Willis?" look in this picture.

Forgiveness
I would like to point you in the direction of my friend, Ek Ong Kaar Kaur's blog to read her beautiful post about forgiveness.
I especially liked this part from Guru Arjan that she included - I need to read this when I am looking at what goes on in this world and asking "WHY???" (But really, you should go to her blog and read the whole post.)
“There is no limit
To what the Creator creates.
There are tens of million of people
Living in pride.
Tens of millions of people
Who are blind and ignorant.
There are tens of millions of people
Who act with cruelty and do not share with others.
Tens of millions of people
Who have no maturity, and no sensitivity.
There are tens of millions of people
Who steal and create pain in others' lives.
Tens of millions who cause trouble and distress.
There are tens of millions
Who labor on behalf of Maya.
Tens of millions
Who wander from place to place, chasing after that Maya.
People are focused on what You,
Oh Divine One,
Have engaged them to do.
Nanak,
The Creator fashions the creation
And knows the purpose for what has been created.”

Snow Pics
We got to play in snow last weekend in Flagstaff. Satvinder now claims that she hates the snow (walking up the hill after sledding down was not fun to her) but there were plenty of times that she was full of delight.
Snow in the yard of Dadaji and Nonni's house
Sledding (all good until you have to walk back up the hill)

Sukhjot looked like a starfish in her winter suit
