Mangala Sadhu Sangeet and his dad worked all weekend painting the house. I balanced it out by doing a lot of sitting, myself.
My in-laws have a beautiful yard. It is quite amazing, really.
Satvinder says this picture is of a bear's shadow. But it is actually me. And the one who's in utero. Looking like a bear, apparently.

Wonderful Wednesdays

One of the things I assist with lately at Satvinder's school is "Wonderful Wednesdays", the day when they have classes in yoga, Spanish, and music. My role is tiny in the process but it always manages to give me laughable interactions with the children.

The children are often fascinated with my belly and want to talk about it. Yesterday many of them wanted to touch it. One little boy rubbed and rubbed my belly. Then he reached up and grabbed my breast. Soooo, we went back to a "hands to yourself" policy after that.

One of the funniest questions I have received came yesterday from a little girl that often has funny comments and questions. She asked, "Does the baby stay in your belly when you take a shower?" Just the idea of where that question comes from is amusing to me. She seemed particularly interested in the shower process. After learning that, indeed, the baby does stay in my belly - even when I take a shower - she wanted to know if the baby likes showers.

Here's a picture of Satvinder in yoga class. They do all kinds of yoga adventures - weaving story and teachings about the natural environment with yoga postures.

8th Wedding Anniversary

Here we are...#8 Anniversary. Grateful and happy.

Homework

Now that Satvinder is in Kindergarten, she has (optional) homework that she brings home to do. She thinks it is fantastic.

I particularly enjoyed this page that came home this weekend. She really went the extra mile - not only writing the numbers but also giving the numbers faces and hair and arms.

I also find it humorous that for name she put "Satvinder Pinky".

27 and a Half Weeks

Putting my feet up after a busy day of taking care of my friend's baby, Narayan, reading with kids at Satvinder's school, and cleaning. This picture shows some common signs of the times: need for rest, stretchy pants, ever expanding belly, red raspberry leaf tea (and the constant ingestion of food and beverages, in general.) 27 and a half weeks!

Still Lining Things Up

Satvinder has always liked to line things up. That's still the case...

Rainy Day

It's raining (!!!) in Phoenix today. I can't even tell you what a relief it is to go from 110 degree heat to right now, at this moment, 74 degrees and raining. It is fabulous.

I've been really dizzy and weak the last few days and generally feeling yucky. Apparently, I needed to eat more food (a recurring theme this pregnancy...somehow.) Now that I'm counting calories and food intake and putting more energy into eating, it seems to be evening out. But I think this weather change has helped too.

Satvinder and her friend, Dylan, are playing in a playhouse and making trains out of chairs for the stuffed animals. And I'm listening to the rain and not being completely dizzy. And that makes for a very nice day.
This morning Satvinder and Mangala Sadhu Sangeet used a microscope (hooked up to the tv) to check out various things around the house. I lost count of how many times Satvinder said, "This is AWESOME!"
