Onward into the Unknown

Today is my last day of work. I have resigned from my position at the yoga center and today is the final letting go. It's been an interesting month at work - probably the craziest, most unstable, unpredictable single month I've ever seen. So much happened and it ultimately resulted in the resignation of all three of us that have been the full time staff there. The structure we built these last 4.5 years is changing and being redone, as is the case and necessity for so many organizations these days. But I have to say that for me personally, it is a beautiful, magical gift. I'll still be teaching but I am really happy that I am now going to be able to focus more on family. I've been wanting that shift to come and I am grateful that the time is here.

I also, just last weekend completed my Reiki Master training. There were a lot of times that I wasn't sure I would make it through (especially with the ridiculous round-the-clock morning sickness I've had these last few months). But I did! I credit the prayers and assistance of others who helped me carry on when I really, honestly felt like I had nothing left. Whahe Guru!

Gratitude.

And now...Here's some Pinky pics:

Baby!

The news is out: we've got a baby on the way! Prayers answered, wishes fulfilled - yipee! I'm 12 weeks pregnant and got to hear our baby's heart beat for the first time today. It was very sweet!

Satvinder is, of course, really excited about being a big sister. Baby is due Dec. 4 (ish).

More to come as the journey continues...

Waffle Princess

Last night was a special community meal - people gathering for a waffle dinner. Satvinder has been excited about this dinner for weeks. She is quite the fan of waffles. And whipped cream.

She kept saying that she wanted to be a waffle princess for the special night. We got lots of elaborate and exciting suggestions from friends (waffle crown, maple syrup bottle purse, etc.) But as it turned out, this is what I had time to make: a waffle shirt with some princess gear added in. I am happy to say that the waffle princess was plenty pleased with that.

For The Win!

Here I was busily typing at the computer while my little sweet Satvinder played "Puppy Squares" for both of us, drawing her own turns and mine. It's a game of taking turns making the line/side of a square and whoever ends up completing the square claims it. Whoever gets the most squares, wins. Probably more information than you needed to know but there you have it.

Anyhow, Satvinder played for both of us and decided that with that level of control, she would let me win. She told me "You are going to win, Mama! I know you can do it!" She loves to let me win or make me win at games. To her, it is what you do when you love someone.

Of course, I had to take pictures.

The Win Maker

Apparently, all the K squares and blank spaces are mine, making me the winner. Satvinder wasn't really sure who the A spaces were for.

My Card

After being home sick for a week, Satvinder is well and back at school today. Mothers Day weekend was kind of rough for us all but even with being ill, Satvinder took it upon herself to make me a Mothers Day card. And it is the sweetest, most charming little card I could ever hope for.

"Thank you for being so nice. From, Satvinder." awwwwww.

Recent Favorites

Here are some things from recent days that make us smile:
Satvinder loves the red Chinese dress she received from our friends. She also loves her handwriting book from Mimi. She writes and writes and writes. Letters are awesome.

I know Satvinder looks more annoyed than smiling in this picture - that's just because I was taking her picture when she didn't want me to bug her. "Mata-jeeeee!"
Root beer has become a recent favorite of Satvinder's - though we are trying to keep consumption light. Satvinder took this picture. That's how much she likes root beer.
This was very pleasing to me! I taught in the Teacher Training course today and part of my topic was Prenatal Yoga. I really wanted to have a pregnancy suit for the students to wear during the class but was not having any luck finding one for rent. My friend, Emily, surprised me by making this pregnancy suit! This is our friend, Rai Singh, wearing it at today's class.
