Yogi Tea and Rain

This morning it is raining and it feels so nice. The oppressive heat of Phoenix really starts getting old by August and receiving a rain shower is such a relief. Cloud cover, breeze, a hint of coolness...thank you.

Here's a picture from yesterday - the girls drinking Yogi Tea after Kids Yoga class: Satvinder, Elia, Nirangkaar, and Sat Darshan.

The Stench of Love

Satvinder is always cracking us up with the funny things she says. Here's a few from the past week:

"Mataji, your skin is soft. And it is stinky. My skin is soft and stinky too. (pauses for a few moments...) We both love each other - that's why we are stinky."

"This lime tastes like God!"

"I need to borrow some of your pregnant lady books. I'm teaching a super hero class for pregnant ladies. The babies love it!"

Bedtime

Bedtime at our house is not really very relaxing. It is usually a final, frantic attempt to avoid sleep - involving jumping, running, shrieking, flailing, hiding...

So, sometimes we make specific efforts to draw out some of that extra energy. This picture is Satvinder being Super Pinky! one night before bed. (Do I need to clarify that those are Mangala's legs? hahaha.)

Man, I am exhausted just thinking about bedtime.

Bats

My sister-in-law sent me this picture from some they took in Austin. This is us watching thousands of bats emerge from the Congress St. bridge at sundown. It is a really cool sight.

On this particular night, we had to look extra hard because it was overcast, which made it hard to see the bats against the darkness of sky. Usually, though, they are easy to see - they look like black rivers pouring out from under the bridge.

Yay, bats!

Why Not

Pictures from since we've been back in Phoenix:

WagonSmJPG
Satvinder in a little wagon, reading a book about Ganesh. We love Ganesh!

SneakySmHere, Satvinder and her friend, Elia, are sneaking out to find Mangala Sadhu Sangeet, who they call "Dragon" when they want him to chase them. They don't know he's hiding behind the wall, about to jump out and get them. Following the picture, there was much shrieking.

More from Texas

Since returning to Phoenix, I've been consumed with work and life. Satvinder started back to school. I attended Reiki training (a healing modality) and life's just been busy. But here's a couple more pictures I wanted to share from the Austin trip, just because I like them:

I have pictures of Bill blasting us - but now here's one of Bill getting it. I love Zach's facial expression.

This is a picture that Satvinder insisted that I take. She really wanted her picture with the mannequin legs. And it is interesting....
